Accelerate your ESG journey

Thursday, 29 June 2023 - 4:30pm-6:00pm

According to scientists, global carbon dioxide emissions must be cut by as much as 85% by 2050 to limit the average global temperature increase to 2 degrees Celsius. Temperature rise above this rate will cause dramatic and unpredictable impacts for people and ecosystems.

Brought into EU law in 2022, businesses are now legally required to demonstrate their impact beyond purely financial statistics, by reporting on the impact their operations have on the communities and environments they operate within. Required reporting and stretching targets in new legislation mean that businesses will be measured, monitored and held accountable should their performance not improve.

The volume of data required to evidence performance across the environmental, social and governance (ESG) pillars is considerable, and businesses face new challenges in gathering, processing and analysing the data throughout their value chains. By considering the direct, indirect, up- and down-stream emissions associated with a business and its operations a holistic view of business processes can be mapped with emissions allocated to each stage in the process.

Dot Group, Informatica and DAMA Ireland are hosting an exclusive, round table event to explore the data requirements of ESG reporting.

At this roundtable, Ian Currie (Director - Data BU at Dot Group), Levent Ergin (Chief ESG Sustainability Strategist from Informatica), Damien Pidgeon, (Climate Lead at Bank of Ireland) and Carl Kane, (DAMA Ireland) will focus the discussion around the following areas:

  • How do you ensure that you are compliant with clean, trusted and governed data with the appropriate controls required by the regulators?
  • How do you bring trust to third party data, such as ESG Rating Agency data and prove that you have the appropriate Data Governance controls expected by the regulators?
  • Encourage open round table discussion subject to Chatham House Rules to collectively drive innovation ideas in business relevant to ESG requirements.
